Read Documents 2-4 to complete Handout 2.
Exit Slip: "Based on the documents you have examined today, what three things do
you think the Allies and their leaders might seek in a peace treaty?"
DAY 2:
Complete Student Handout 3.
Discuss Vocabulary on Handout 4.
Read Document 7 (Fourteen Points) and complete Handout 5 section on Fourteen Points.
Read Document 8 (Conditions of the Armistice with Germany) and complete Handout 5 section on Armistice.
Read Document 9 (Treaty of Versailles) and complete Handout 5 section on Treaty of Versailles.
Exit Slip: "How do the aims and goals of the allied nations and their leaders reflect
their attitudes about Germany?"
DAY 3:
Complete Handout 6. (Document 5 and 6 are helpful to reference)
Finish Handout 5.
Answer questions on Handout 7.
Exit Slip: "What terms affecting Germany appeared in the Treaty of Versailles that
were not present in both the armistice and Wilson’s Fourteen Points?"
DAY 4:
Pre-writing: Use Handouts 2, 4, 5, and 6 to complete pre-write (Handout 8).
DAY 5:
Create an Outline using Student Handout 9a (SKIP HANDOUT 9). (Extra Credit toward the project. Take your outline and follow Student Handout 10 to type the Essay)
Reflection:
Reread Student Handout 1 speech.
-How the speech would have been different if the Treaty had not been written in a punitive fashion?
-What might have been the long or short term effects of such a treaty?
